Welcome to Yorkshire Forest Folk
Yorkshire Forest Folk is for those who love to get outdoors, explore, ponder, play, imagine, get back to nature and maybe get muddy! At the heart of everything we do is a fundamental belief in the restorative properties of play, nature and people. When we give children the chance to explore a natural environment at their own pace, children flourish and, not only grow in confidence, but develop a myriad of other interpersonal skills.
In a world where we are becoming distanced from nature and our children’s time is increasingly structured and directed, opportunities to explore the outdoors with others need to be embraced.
We work in partnership with the Forestry Commission and have unlimited access to acres of woodland at Kilburn woods, near Thirsk.
We offer forest school sessions and outdoor activity days to children from toddler age to end of primary school age through a range of sessions.
