The Woods
We are so lucky to work in partnership with the Forestry Commission and have the use of Kilburn woods as our seemingly endless and wild playground. Here the children can explore and connect with nature to their heart’s content. Often our explorations with children lead us to yet another area that we haven’t discovered. Imaginations fly in this environment with the possibility of all sorts of magical creatures lurking behind every tree, not to mention Grufflesnout, the local friendly dragon who lives at the top of Hood Hill!
We have two log circles currently and inhabit each depending on the time of year. One is surrounded by spruce and larch trees, the other is in an area of deciduous woodland, and in spring time, a carpet of bluebells and wild garlic. Both sites offer endless opportunities for climbing, swinging, water (and mud….) play, plus infinities possibilities for exploration and adventure.
